Step 7 – Passport collection

You can collect your passport in person or have your passport collected by a representative – you or your representative needs ID. You can also choose to have your passport returned by express courier for an additional cost.

If your application has been accepted, the visa will be attached to one of the pages in your passport. If it is rejected, you will be told the reason why. There are many reasons why a visa application is rejected including:

  1. Travel insurance does not cover 30,000 Euros – it is a mandatory requirement that the travel insurance has a minimum cover of 30,000 Euros
  2. The embassy does not think that you will return to Nigeria – you cannot stay in Luxembourg for an indefinite period, especially if you are only applying for a 90 day visa, so you must be clear about your intention to return to your home country
  3. There has been an error processing your application – human errors do occur. If you are absolutely sure that your application is all present and correct, then you have the right to appeal
  4. Lack of funds – you must be able to afford your trip and your bank statements should prove this
